Melander on Scarlett 2i4 not right out of the box http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/compatibility-list/scarlett-2i4-not-right-out-of-the-box/#p1945 Compatibility List http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/compatibility-list/scarlett-2i4-not-right-out-of-the-box/#p1945 Well, I sorted this out. mpd.conf has audio_output section but if that section is not there, mpd will try to find something default. So, I commented the whole audio_output section and voila, mpd works ok, files from USB, radio too.

audio_output {
type "alsa"
name "Output"
device "hw:0,0"
dsd_usb "no"

}

Perhaps I some day figure out what should be there in this section if I ever wanted to activate it.

So... Smile

So, still, no play from USB stick, the mp3 files are there, get into db. I tried some lesser bitrate like 96 kbps bit it did not help.

But, the soundcard config is at least ok for AirPlay feeding from my iPad. I'd like to go to NAS but I would like this USB play to work also.

Edit: sorry for being slow in reporting my issues. I'm new to this and sort of expected things to work OOB but live is not so easy always. Well, the webradio fails in a similar way, a couple of pops, no other content out, and it stops. Somethings related to MPD? It does seem to collect the db ok. AirPlay still works.

Melander on Scarlett 2i4 not right out of the box http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/compatibility-list/scarlett-2i4-not-right-out-of-the-box/#p1877 Compatibility List http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/compatibility-list/scarlett-2i4-not-right-out-of-the-box/#p1877 I seem to have an issue or two with my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 USB audio interface with RPI/RaspyFI. My new RPI boots up with RaspyFI but starting to play an mp3 file from the USB mem gives a couple of pops out and advances a second or two, pausing there. Twice I got after boot into a situation where the play would stay on normally but still no sound out. The playback info is "Stereo, 24 bit, 44.1 kHz, 192 kbps" but oftentimes it says "... 0 kbps"

I have:
5V 2A pwr in
powered USB HUB (kbd, mouse, USB memory)
Scarlett 2i4
HDMI display
wired net (waiting mail to get wireless)

I made it more simple by dropping the HUB and display, having only audio card and memory card, network and then SSH and browser to raspyfi.

I could change some configs if I just would get to know what to change, the mixer change in RaspyFI browser UI did not help for example. So, some tech info (HUB connected in this case):
