Of course you are right.

I will get myself an Edimax and go with the wifi option as soon as my new DAC finally arrives.

Thanks for all the good work
Francesco

this has been documented by our friend Carlo Bernardini here:

But, why don't you simply get a wi-fi dongle and configure the Pi as an hotspot?
This would be rather simple...

francescop on Bluetooth control (Remuco ?) http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/everything-else/bluetooth-control-remuco/#p493 Everything else http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/everything-else/bluetooth-control-remuco/#p493 Hi,

I was thinking of setting up a second Raspyfied PI at my workplace, but at present this would mean having to set up a WLAN router just for controlling MPD, which is somewhat wasteful. A better option could be to control it via bluetooth (i.e. with my phone and via a USB bluetooth dongle). There is something called Remuco which seems to be right for the job, and the installation/configuration steps look fairly straightforward.

I would be interested to know if anyone here has already tried doing so (I remember various people mentioning using Raspyi in their cars, so I guess not everyone set up a WLAN just for that purpose).

Do you see any obvious reason why this should not work? Is this likely to bring the Raspy's USB to its knees? (the dongle would be connected to a powered USB hub, as would be an external hard drive)

I am just asking because I don't even own a bluetooth dongle at present, so would save myself buying one if there is no chance of this working...

Thanks and ciao
Francesco
