you won the "most intriguing Raspyfi post of the month" with this. That being said, I would invest some money in Computer, self powered speakers... This would do tthe trick. Or maybe this combo (they used to sell in a bundle, couldn't find them now)

I'm slowly going deaf. One of the more unfortunate consequences is that I've developed tinnitus, which evidences itself as rather strong perception of high pitched tone. Of the many things I've tried to help me deal with this is that I constantly play background noise to help mask the perception. Lately I've been using my Raspberry Pi to run a "soundscaping" application called "Boodle". With it, I've managed to hide the fact that all these sounds are loops, something that is oddly irritating or distracting. One of the features that Boodle supports is panning and fading, which really works well with stereo speakers... So much so, that I'm serious considering add more small speakers with the intent to allow for more immersive 3D experience. As I've lost 40% of my hearing in the higher registers and 10-15% in the lower, I don't really see the point of investing in Audiophile level quality stuff.

That said, what is the most straight forward way and cost effective way for me to get a set of small speakers, perhaps 4-6 driven, by a Raspberry PI?

Thanks!
