RAMPLAY works in the sense that there is no more clicks, pops, continuous stuttering....HOWEVER, all artists sound like aliens on speed! Roger Waters, Who needs information is extremely weird - the backing music sounds fine but the vocals are messed up.

What on earth does this mean?!

The Logitech squeezebox touch needs to be connected that way for a-sync to work with the M-DAC.

Does this give any hint to what it might be??

Nothing connected apart from an Ethernet cable and the DAC.

The weird thing is that a friend of mine with an M-DAC had the same issue something like 6 months ago and after much tinkering got one (ONE!!) Song to work properly. I'm not sure if this Audiolab operates differently to other async dac's?

Do you have also an HDMI monitor attached?

I must admit I'm clueless...

access: RW_INTERLEAVED
format: S24_3LE
subformat: STD
channels: 2
rate: 96000 (96000/1)
period_size: 12000
buffer_size: 48000

This is a 24/96 file but the same result with anything.

DAC has it's own dedicated power supply.

Thanks for the help :)

Matt.

while playing

Also, does your DAC self power or it relies on USB power?

Matt on Audiolab M-DAC Problems http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/raspyfi-install-and-troubleshooting/audiolab-m-dac-problems/#p987 RaspyFi install and troubleshooting http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/raspyfi-install-and-troubleshooting/audiolab-m-dac-problems/#p987 A bit more info:

I've now tried with files being played back from a USB HDD, memory stick (small capacity), and NAS with the same problem.

Changing the buffer size to smaller makes no sound whilst increasing it (from default) makes no difference.

A little lost! When using previous revisions I remember the USB fix working but now that 1.0 has it out of the box it doesn't work.

Super eager for any advice or ideas anyone has!

Many thanks,

Matt

At last I have Raspyfi 1.0 booting (yay thanks Admins!! :) ) but unfortunately my shiny new Audiolab M-DAC doesn't seem to work with playback - there is continuous stuttering and the DAC display continually flashes "flushing buffers."

This happens on all files be it MP3, AAC, FLAC etc. at any bitrate and resolution. I have tried changing caching and buffering settings with no change.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? I had it previously working with a Musical Fidelity V-Link II but of course now want to use this M-DAC. A friend of mine also has the same setup and is experiencing the same issue.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated :)

Thanks in advance!!
