I have downloaded and decompressed a few times and every time the same. I've noticed that the lights are flashing on the pi so it's busily doing something, however the monitor stays on standby/blank.

I'll investigate further.

[1] I've not even mentioned that my PC has started to bluescreen whenever I power a pi from the PC's powered hub, but only if the pi is connected the hdmi. If the hdmi is disconnected or I power the pi from one of the PC's on-board USB or from the NAS, it's fine. Wierd, but these days I'm never surprised!

Try to download it again, sometimes the images are getting somehow corrupted when downloading from sourceforge...

Wanting to play with it again, but having downloaded, uncompressed and dropped it to a SD card the pi doesn't boot (blank/black screen, no boot information scrollng up the screen, nothing).

I've swapped the available Pi round to eliminate a Pi problem and swapped round SD cards to do same with those (writing the latest Raspbian image to the same cards boots no problem)

Raspyfirc2.img is showing 13/02/2013 18:46 1,945,600 KB (1,992,294,400 bytes in properties)
