and now no crashing but no audio, not sure where to start to troubleshoot. Any tips would be appreciated.

thanks, that was not the problem but was cool tool. So late last night I ran raspi-config and did an update of that tool and then it started working. Great. I queued up a bunch of music and seemed to be great, today it's not working.
Saw this in the logs:

I restarted the device and saw this in dmesg:
