Maybe this dac doesn't have hardware volume control... Hope you're happy with it!

Setting the volume control mixer to mixer_type "software" solved it. Dont know if its the right solution, but it works.

I plugged in the dac and its working! Guess i was being to cautious. It souns great too, so thank you very much!
The dac i'm using is the grubDAC. its a DIY dac based on the Texas Instruments PCM2707 and the Wolfson Micro WM8524. You can add it to your list of compatible DACs.

The only issue is that i cant control the volume via mpad, but thats not that important, although it would be nice to get it working. Anyway , im very happy with the result, thanks again.

I'm happy that this is working! And that you're satisfied with the results! I'll add your dac to the compatibility list. For the volume control, could you please post the content of /etc/mpd.conf?

That is weird, it should work!

If you still want to use the analog tell me , I'll sort it out and tell you how
