Pi is good when you have anonymous access to the nas, if you set up a login then you should put there the username and password!

Unless you have 'pi' as the username for your NAS.

Try to remove the one from fstab. RaspyFi mounts only when mpd access the files!

LP_101 on RaspyFi beta 1.0 NAS mount issue http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/raspyfi-install-and-troubleshooting/raspyfi-beta-1-0-nas-mount-issue/#p355 RaspyFi install and troubleshooting http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/raspyfi-install-and-troubleshooting/raspyfi-beta-1-0-nas-mount-issue/#p355 I agree with you on that!

I am using samba (cifs).

/etc/auto.nas config:
Nas -fstype=cifs,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,iocharset=utf8,rsize=130048,wsize=4096,cache=strict,username=pi,password=*****
://192.168.*.*/Media/music/flac

/etc/fstab config:
//192.168.*.*/Media/music/flac /mnt/nas cifs username=pi,password=******,uid=mpd,file_mode=0644,dir_mode=0755,iocharset=utf8,rsize=130048,wsize=4096 0 0

Note: I have starred out the NAS IP and user password!

I used the exact same fstab config within RC2 on a separate SD card and all worked well and also from various other devices (e.g. Win7, Mac OSX). This is strange!

Your assistance is appreciated. :-)

It looks like your Nas filesystem is corrupted... Are you using samba or nfs?

LP_101 on RaspyFi beta 1.0 NAS mount issue http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/raspyfi-install-and-troubleshooting/raspyfi-beta-1-0-nas-mount-issue/#p350 RaspyFi install and troubleshooting http://www.raspyfi.com/forum/raspyfi-install-and-troubleshooting/raspyfi-beta-1-0-nas-mount-issue/#p350 First of all I would like to thank you and the team for this great project and distribution. I have really enjoyed listening to music through the Pi.

However, I have a small problem with the Beta software. Whether I update the /etc/auto.nas or the /etc/fstab files the result is the same ie. no NAS access to my music. This used to work in the RC2 build but not on the beta 1.0. I even took a copy of the fstab contents from RC2 and pasted it into the Beta with no success.

The error message is :

mount: //nasipaddr/share: can't read superblock

the output from dmesg is:

[ 690.641836] CIFS VFS: Send error in SessSetup = -5
[ 690.650531] CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -5

I have no idea how to resolve this. Any ideas?
