For reference, I'm on the rev 1.0 board, RaspyFi 1.0, with a Behringer UCA222 (aka 202) USB-DAC. The Raspberry board is connected to a gigabit LAN switch, then to a Buffalo Linkstation Duo NAS.
Hoping for a fix!
ps: it plays without problems when listening to streaming radio.
]]>Great work anyway, I mean when I bought the Pi audio was so distorted with my DAC it was totally unusable, and I love the simplicity of the web interface for Raspyfi. I think I'll have to order a 128GB USB stick now
Thanks for all your hard work,
Matt

Just to add some feedback to this. I have a HRT Music Streamer II mk1 (the one without LEDs) and with every software and distri I've tested on Raspberry Pi (Squeezeplug,Picoreplayer,RaspbMC,gmrender-ressurect) I get reoccurring loud zap sounds (sort of a destroy-the-tweeters-sound
)
I must say RaspyFi 1.0 is by far the best to try to squash this problem so far. I still get regular zap sounds so I can't connect the player to my amp and speakers just yet. But the zap sounds are now rare instead of having a couple of zaps per minute. So good work! Not 100,00% there yet but getting there
I know that it should not discuss here but as I have been using Picoreplayer for a while, there is two advices you could try to stop the zap. One is to limit it to 16bit, i.e. add "-a ::16" in the setting, Another is to try the willem1 version.

The little PI (and it's firmware) struggle a lot with async DACS. It has been month that we are fighting with this... There's no fix as of now, but we seem to get closer to it... (hoping for new kernels to be released)
Alright, thanks for your reply. It saves me a lot of time to troubleshoot. BTW, XMOS is an Async chipset and it is reported working perfectly with RaspyFi v1.0

However, the playback is not excellent, please help:
16/44.1: Occasional "Zap" sound, sometimes really frequent and sometimes not, checked not because of CPU usage in RPi.
24/48: Same as 16/44.1
24/96: Continuous "pop" sound, not really listenable
24/192: My DAC is not compatible
Equipment:
RPi (256MB version)
Audio-gd DI-V2 (Async USB/SPDIF converter, TE8022 based)
WAV, FLAC, APE are all tested with same results above
I know it is only because of my USB/SPDIF converter, but I want to know how to troubleshoot, thank you.
