And yes, you can install a samba server, but it will degrade musical performaces, 'cause overloading the usb/ethernet bus results in audio stuttering.

I have the latest version of raspyfi, I have installed a 1 TB HD via USB and I need to save my music files from a computer on my home network.
is already present samba on raspyfi. I have the SMB.conf configured so that it is visible the folder music of my HD.
everything works perfectly but when I go to restart the raspyfi the SMB.conf value returned by default.

I would say that there is some misconfiguration in a file that is not routing the information to the LCD.

In order to see if this was a problem with wrong wiring, I installed RaspBMC and it worked beatifully.

Could any of you who have it working put the image in a Dropbox so I can download it ? I would have only to reconfigure my Wifi and DLNA.

The Rapyfi playback is really great but I find that my two sound cards have more treble when listening from a PC with foobar 2000, wasapi and no DSP.
Of course this is just something that I hear, I've no tool to measure it.
I drive the tests with a HifiMeDiy Sabre USB DAC receiver TE7022 and a cambridge audio dac magic 100.
The actual workaround is to set the treble on the amplifier.

But didn't get it to work yet. It looks like a hardware issue. I will report back as soon as I get it to work.

I still didn't understand if airplay streaming is comparable to MPD playing. What is the maximum bitrate in airplay?
